Michael Ackerman, former BearingPoint Public Services CFO, joins Grant Thornton LLP Global Public Sector practice as Chief Administrative Officer

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 13, 2010 — Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, is pleased to announce that Michael Ackerman has joined the firm’s Global Public Sector practice as Chief Administrative Officer. In this position Ackerman will focus primarily on finance and government contracts.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Ackerman was CFO of BearingPoint Inc. Public Services Group, where he directed overall financial operations for the $1.5 billion public sector consulting practice.

Ackerman has over 20 years experience in financial positions of increasing importance in the public sector. Prior to joining BearingPoint he spent five years as the CFO of IBM’s Public Sector Group. He also served as CFO of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Government and Services Group and as Vice President Finance in the Federal Government Group at Unisys Corporation.
