CHICAGO, Sept. 28, 2010 – To kick off the firm’s 2011 fiscal year, Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, one of the global audit, tax and advisory organizations, set a goal of collecting $111,000 worth of peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, chicken noodle soup and granola bars during the month of August to benefit Feeding America’s Kids Cafe program. The people in all of Grant Thornton’s offices around the country went above and beyond collecting more than $126,800 in food and money.
“This is an amazing achievement and truly shows how invested we are in our communities,” said Stephen Chipman, Grant Thornton CEO. “Through the hard work and enthusiasm of our people, Grant Thornton was able to help thousands of children and families who are struggling to meet their most basic human needs. I’m incredibly proud to be leading a firm of so many caring individuals who are truly committed to making a difference.”
